That being said, here are 3 tips which can help to avoid or alleviate a difficult situation if anything happens to your backpack or contents of.

  1. Email a copy of your passport, blood type, next of kin, eye prescription etc to yourself. Print this out on a small piece of paper, laminate it and keep it in your wallet.
  2. Email a copy of all your travel documents and details to yourself before you go traveling.
  3. Keep all your important travel documents safe inside a plastic wallet or waterproof bag.
